Data protection.
Handled under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/DPA) and, where relevant, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who this concerns
The controller for data collected through this site is SCFCEA, represented by its Committee (President: Dr. Firas Nadim Habach, CFA). Contact: info@scfcea.com.
Two forms, two purposes
- Contact form. Name, email address, subject, and message — used only to answer your enquiry.
- Membership application. Name, current role, institution, regulator, email, phone, LinkedIn profile, conflict-of-interest disclosure, PEP status, and how you heard about SCFCEA — used to assess eligibility under Art. IV of the Articles of Association.
- Newsletter (optional). If you tick the separate mailing-list checkbox on the application form, your name, email, and institution are also shared with our mailing-list provider, Mailchimp. This is never bundled into the act of applying — it's your own, separate choice, revocable at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to us.
Why we're allowed to
Contact and application data is processed on the basis of your consent in submitting the form, and — for applications — because it is necessary to assess membership eligibility under our Articles of Association. Newsletter data is processed solely on the basis of your explicit, separate opt-in consent.
Hosting & processors
Form submissions are stored in a database hosted by our web hosting provider. If you opt in to the newsletter, your details are additionally stored by Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC, USA), which processes data under its own privacy policy and appropriate safeguards for transfers outside Switzerland/the EEA. This page also loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which involves your browser contacting Google's servers.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry. Membership applications are retained for the Committee's review process and, if approved, for the duration of membership administration. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, subject to any legal or governance obligation to retain it.
What you can ask for
- Access, correction, deletion. Write to info@scfcea.com at any time.
- Withdraw consent. Especially for the newsletter — unsubscribe link in any email, or just ask us.
- Lodge a complaint. With Switzerland's Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or your local EU/EEA supervisory authority if applicable.
How it's protected
Forms are protected against automated abuse, and access to stored data is restricted. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data involved.
This policy may be updated from time to time; the version in effect is always the one published on this page. Questions go to info@scfcea.com.
